G. Baris Ozdener, DMD
Dr. Gokhan Baris Ozdener initially earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and a Master of Science in Oral Radiology (MSc) in his native country in 2002. He moved to the U.S. in 2007 and earned a Doctor of Science (DSc) in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2014 at Boston University. He then earned an additional Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2019. As an associate dentist in South Carolina he treated a lot of pediatric and adult patients, providing sedation dentistry to both young and old fearful patients.
In 2024, Dr. Baris, as we affectionately call him, returned to New England and searched for a practice in New Hampshire where he found the gem he was looking for. He brings to the practice, not only a broad range of current professional training and abilities across many phases of dentistry such as Botox treatment and sedation dentistry, but most importantly a continued true sense of patient care and compassion that you’ve always associated with Better Smiles Dental Care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Baris’ interests consist of collecting abstract painting, acting in theater, and learning ancient world history and mythology.
Del M. Faustino, DDS (Retired)
Dr. Faustino received his dental education at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York, NY. He graduated in 1995 and was awarded a certificate of Excellence in Clinical Dentistry by Columbia University.
After dental school, he performed one year of general practice residency at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. During his residency, he received training in hospital dentistry dealing with the care of mentally challenged dental patients in the OR, treatment of facial trauma in the ER, as well as treatment of patients in all phases of dentistry.
Upon completion of his residency, he relocated to Hartford County, CT and practiced in Bloomfield as an associate dentist for three years. Following three more years of associateship in Newburyport, MA, Dr. Faustino opened Better Smiles Dental Care, his own private practice in 2002.
Kaley
Kaley is a certified dental assistant and has been with the practice since 2005. She is certified in CEREC CAD-CAM technology and proficiently designs and mills our crown in office. Kaley is also the OSHA compliance officer, Privacy and Radiation Safety Officer, and Lead Office Supervisor.
Ashley
Ashley joined the practice in late 2024 and quickly applied her strong background in research and data gathering and communication into her role in front office administration. These are key elements necessary in the continuity of care that we strive to deliver for the optimal patient experience.
An Environmental Science graduate (Summa Cum Laude), Ashley’s concentration on sustainability, environmental policy, and natural resource management ties in with our choice of using eco-friendly materials, recycling and efficient utilization of our supplies to reduce our carbon footprint and waste that directly impacts our changing climate.
Aside from English, Ashley is fluent in Italian and German languages.
Jeff
Jeff joined our practice in mid-2020. Serving as a medic for 10 years with the Army National Guard, Jeff was inspired to pursue a related health science degree in dental hygiene at the New Hampshire Technical Institute, and in 2019 he became a Registered Dental Hygienist. In keeping with Jeff’s desire in helping people, you may bump into him in downtown Portsmouth, where he is involved with the food industry in his spare time.
Dean
Dean has been managing our office since 2006. In addition to managing day to day schedules, he is excellent at coordinating treatment plans and is an expert in dental insurance with his wealth of knowledge.
Dawn
Dawn has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for over 3 decades. With her vast knowldege and experience, Dawn is able to quickly adapt and continue the legacy of a patient centered culture at the practice that our patients have known us for.
